FOUNDING OF ROME Rome, Italy Long ago in 753 B.C the chase began It is believed according t the traditional texts,  Romulus and his twin brother, Remus, found Rome on April 21, 753 B.C. Actually, the myth of Romulus and Remus originated nearly in the fourth century B.C., the Roman scholar Marcus Terentius Varro exactly set the date of Rome's founding, in the first century B.C. The legend of the founding of Rome, Romulus and Remus were the sons of  the daughter of King Numitor of Alba Longa., named Rhea Silvia.
